Dinesh Doshi, New York based Indian American artist, was born in Africa in 1949. His artwork is informed by a variety of cultural experiences having lived in Sudan, India, London & New York. Doshi's artwork is an exploration of the inner workings of his mind, and spiritual visions, it's a way of digesting & revisiting life experiences.
At the young age of twenty-one, Doshi was invited for his first solo exhibition at Mumbai' s highly respected Jehangir Art Gallery and has sold his work throughout India. For the majority of his life, Doshi has maintained an active studio practice, while simultaneously having a successful career in Architecture and Design. Doshi received a Master's in Architecture from Pratt Institute. He has completed design projects in forty-three US states & abroad.
In 2016, Doshi created the Art Charity "Draw Your Dreams" providing free art supplies to children in Africa, which is funded by the sales of his artwork. In 2013 Doshi had a retrospective Chelsea art exhibition of abstract & figurative with bright colors compositions of original oil in New York, while his work is in numerous corporate & private collections. His work has been featured in several radio interviews & publications such as the Huffington Post, The Art of Times, News India Times & Just Luxe etc.
